A 12.6 km route of about 30 minutes that heads southwest from Tolworth into the leafier Claygate and Esher lanes. Its stand-out feature is having just 2 sets of traffic lights, by far the fewest of the Tolworth routes, so you judge most junctions yourself on give-way rather than waiting for a signal.

Watch Out For

  • Kingston Bypass at 50 mph. A faster dual-carriageway section near Hook Rise. Get up to the limit and judge your gap before joining or leaving.
  • Give-way junctions, not lights. With only two sets of lights, your timing at give-ways is doing most of the work. Look early and commit decisively when clear.
