This single-stage route covers 15.29 km in around 29 minutes, winding through Heswall, Thurstaston and Greasby with limits from 30 up to 60 mph. With only three roundabouts, it has among the fewest of any route at the Upton test centre, so most of the demand comes from open country lanes and nine sets of traffic lights rather than roundabout entries.

Watch Out For

  • The faster 60 mph section on Telegraph Road, where judging a safe speed matters.
  • Narrow lanes along Irby Road with parked cars and oncoming traffic.
  • Give way to the right at each roundabout and signal left on exit.
