Kiama #162 Pro
This Kiama driving test route starts at the Service NSW office, which has a one-way exit zone — be careful of the traffic flow direction when leaving and entering. The route takes you through the town centre with high pedestrian activity, where the speed limit is 40 km/h on Terralong Street at all times near the shops and market areas. In busy market zones, you may need to slow to 10–15 km/h practically.
Watch for the No Entry trap on Nooreen Street — when turning right, you could accidentally enter the wrong lane. Nooreen Street is also tight with parked cars, so watch for opening doors. Thomson Street has steep rises with a Stop Sign at the top — you need smooth acceleration to avoid stalling or rolling back.
Watch Out For
Bong Bong Street has a critical Stop Sign where you must count a full 3 seconds before proceeding. Belvedere Street has a Stop Sign on a steep incline — use careful clutch/brake control. Shoalhaven Street has a Give Way sign with dotted lines. Railway Parade has a busy intersection with a Stop Sign followed by a pedestrian crossing after the turn. The Collins Street Roundabout requires giving way to traffic from the right.
Route Features
- 9 left turns, 3 right turns, 1 roundabout.
Speed limits include 40 km/h in school zones near Bong Bong Street during school hours, 40 km/h in the high pedestrian town centre area at all times, and standard 50 km/h on residential streets. Pedestrian activity is especially high near Railway Parade and around the market areas.
Test Manoeuvres
Kerbside stop on Bong Bong Street. Reverse parallel park on Barney Street. Three-point turn on Belvedere Street.
Key Tips
At every Stop Sign, come to a complete stop and count to 3 before moving. On steep streets like Thomson Street and Belvedere Street, practice hill starts to avoid rolling. Always scan for pedestrians in the town centre — they may step out from between parked cars near the markets. When approaching Nooreen Street, confirm the correct lane to avoid the No Entry zone.
