Burwood #165 Pro
A short two-stage route from Burwood Service Centre, covering 5.2 km in about 16 minutes through Burwood and Concord. 21 turns (10 left, 11 right) with speeds between 40 and 60 km/h. Despite its short distance, this route packs in narrow streets, Keep Clear zones, and a red-light camera intersection.
Watch Out For
- Keep Clear markings on Burwood Road. Stopping in a Keep Clear zone is an instant fail. Keep moving through even if traffic ahead is slow.
- Red-light speed camera at Parramatta Road and Burwood Road. Also a red-light camera at Burwood Road and George Street. Do not enter on amber unless you cannot stop safely.
- Narrow streets: Park Road and Excelsior Street. Cars parked on both sides. Slow to 20-30 km/h and be ready to give way to oncoming traffic.
- Right turn from Parramatta Road. Two turning lanes available. Stay within your lane throughout the turn.
- Burwood Road and Park Avenue left turn. Watch for the red arrow signal and check for pedestrians before turning.
- George Street and Park Road right turn. Dotted line intersection. Give way to traffic from both directions before proceeding.

- 10 left turns, 11 right turns, 1 roundabout, 10 sets of traffic lights.
- Speed limits: mostly 50 km/h residential zones, with 40 km/h sections and brief 60 km/h on Parramatta Road.
- Speed humps on residential streets. Slow to approximately 25 km/h.
- Stop sign on Park Avenue and stop sign near Parramatta Road. Come to a complete stop before proceeding.
- One-way street: Elsie Street on the return to the service centre.

Key Tips
- On narrow streets with parked cars, position your vehicle to the left and slow down. Be prepared to stop for oncoming vehicles.
- If you hear emergency sirens, pull over to the left and stop. Wait until the emergency vehicle passes before continuing.
- Give cyclists at least 1.5 m clearance when passing at 60 km/h or above, and at least 1 m at lower speeds.
