A 7.8 km two-stage route from North Rocks Service Centre through North Rocks and Carlingford, taking about 15 minutes. This route stands out for its 5 roundabouts and 4 left turns with 7 right turns. Speeds range from 50 to 60 km/h. Double unbroken centre lines on several roads mean lane discipline is critical.
Watch Out For
- Double unbroken lines on Jenkins Road and Baker Street. Crossing double unbroken lines is an instant fail. Stay in your lane even when navigating parked cars.
- Narrow Baker Street. Cars parked on both sides. You may need to pull over and wait for oncoming vehicles to pass.
- Service centre exit onto North Rocks Road. Right turn exit. Check carefully in both directions before turning. Traffic moves fast at 60 km/h.
- Jenkins Road and North Rocks Road intersection. Keep Clear sign present. Watch for the green right-turn arrow before proceeding.
- School zones along the route. 40 km/h strictly enforced during school hours. Exceeding by even 1 km/h is an automatic fail in NSW.
- Pedestrian crossings on Felton Road. Slow down and be ready to stop for pedestrians.

- Speed limits: 50 km/h in residential streets, 60 km/h on North Rocks Road and Jenkins Road.
- Stop sign on Jenkins Road and give way on Parkland Road.

- Refuge islands along the route. Drop to approximately 30 km/h when passing.
- Farnell Avenue stop sign to North Rocks Road: full 3-second complete stop required.

Key Tips
- At roundabouts, give way to vehicles on your right. Signal left when exiting the roundabout.
- On Baker Street, if an oncoming car approaches on the narrow road, find a gap between parked cars and pull over to let them pass.
- When merging back onto North Rocks Road, perform a head check (blind spot) before changing lanes.
- Give cyclists on Jenkins Road and Farnell Avenue at least 1.5 m clearance.
