Route 1955 is a 7.5 mile drive of roughly 26 minutes in one stage, working north out of Hexham towards Acomb before coming back through the town. Limits run from 20 to 70 mph. Its 7 sets of traffic lights are among the most of the eleven routes at this test centre, and they are packed into one of the shorter distances here.

Watch Out For

  • Seven sets of traffic lights, several close enough that you queue between them.
  • Four give way junctions, including a give way on the northern loop.
  • Three roundabouts: give way to the right and signal left on exit.
  • Hencotes, where the town centre limit and pedestrian traffic meet.
