Route 2018 covers 8.6 miles in about 28 minutes as a single stage, running south from Stranraer towards Lochans and returning through the residential streets on the western side of town, with limits of 30 and 60 mph. It is the quickest route to complete at this test centre, and its seven left turns are more than any other route here.

Watch Out For

• A give way junction on the southern rural leg, where traffic can be doing 60 mph.
• Three roundabouts, where you give way to the right and signal left on exit.
• The change from 60 mph open road back to 30 mph residential streets.
• Seven left turns, so mirror and signal work comes round often.

Route Features

• Ochtrelure Way on the southern edge of Stranraer.
• Coronation Drive, a 30 mph residential street on the return leg.
• Drum Hill, one of the western streets before the finish.

Test Manoeuvres

• A pull up on the left near the end of the drive, so pick a kerb clear of driveways.

Key Tips

• There are no traffic lights here, so priority rests entirely on give way and roundabout rules.
