Watch Out For

Martin Way carries fast-moving 30 mph traffic and has several side-road junctions where vehicles pull out. The three roundabouts along Lower Morden Lane come in quick succession and require confident lane selection. A school zone near the first roundabout drops the limit to 20 mph during school hours. Two give-way junctions along the route demand full observation before proceeding.

The route runs mainly on 20 mph residential roads with a 30 mph stretch on Bushey Road. Seventeen traffic signals keep the pace stop-and-go through Wimbledon Chase. Parked cars narrow several streets, particularly around Crown Lane and Maycross Avenue, requiring careful gap management.

Expect a pull up on the left near Tudor Drive close to the test centre. The examiner may also ask for a forward bay park or parallel park in this area.

Key Tips

Practise right turns at busy junctions, especially turning right from Westway onto Grand Drive. Check your speed before the school zone and watch for pedestrians near Links Avenue. On the three roundabouts, signal right if taking an exit past 12 o'clock, then signal left before your exit.
