This 15.9 km route follows a similar westward path to Route 516 but with a different return leg. It heads from the test centre up Wood Street and St Albans Road to the A1 Barnet Bypass dual carriageway. After exiting at Rowley Lane, it takes Barnet Road south through residential areas, then Quinta Drive and Stanhope Road to Mays Lane and back via Barnet Hill.

Watch Out For

The A1 dual carriageway has sections at 50 and 60 mph - build speed on the slip road. Three school zones near Barnet Hill require sharp speed reductions. Four 30 mph speed limit zones along the Potters Lane area. The Wood Street roundabout has two lanes and can be busy at peak times.
