This Sale route stays entirely within the Sale town area, looping through Northenden Road, Washway Road, and Barker's Lane to the north, then through Dane Road and Old Hall Road to the east, returning via Marsland Road. With 13 left turns and 15 right turns but no roundabouts and only 3 traffic signals, this is a pure residential driving test with the most turns of any Sale route.

Watch Out For

A U-turn near Dane Road requires careful positioning on a road with parked cars. The bike lane along the northern section means cyclists may be alongside you when turning left. The 28 combined turns in 11.61 km leave almost no straight driving. Missing a turn or hesitating will be noticed immediately.

Route Features

The entire route runs at 30 mph through residential streets with no higher-speed sections. Washway Road is the busiest section with shops and pedestrians. Park Road and Whitefield Road are quieter with tree-lined streets. Sale Moor has narrow streets with cars parked on both sides.
