This route from Kingstanding follows a similar south-eastern path as Route 1. From Birdbrook Road you head south through Stowell Road and Epwell Road to Moor Lane, then continue to Brookvale Road and North Park Road in Erdington. You head east to Slade Road, then north through Summer Road and back west to the centre.
Watch Out For
Ten traffic signals along the Erdington corridor demand vigilance. Brookvale Road has bus routes and parked cars narrowing lanes. The residential streets around Boswell Road have T-junctions with restricted visibility. All 30 mph but the road environment varies from quiet residential to busy shopping areas.
