The longest Edinburgh Currie route at 17.8 km and 33 minutes. It heads east from Riccarton via Calder Road (A71) at 50 mph, through Sighthill and Broomhouse to Carrick Knowe and Wester Broom, then returns west via Hermiston. The only Currie route reaching deep into Edinburgh, with 50 mph on the A71 and 74 waypoints (the most of any Currie route).

Watch Out For

The A71 Calder Road has speed cameras and frequent speed transitions between 40 and 50 mph. Broomhouse estate has 20 mph zones with speed humps. Seven roundabouts and 11 traffic lights make this demanding. Stop signs and school zones add further complexity.
