A 7.1 km two-stage route from Carlton VicRoads, taking about 24 minutes. This route stays entirely within Carlton and extends south towards the CBD fringe via Victoria Street. With 18 traffic signals, it has the highest signal count at this centre, more than double the average.

Watch Out For

  • Victoria Street signals. Major arterial road with heavy traffic. The right turn from Victoria Street requires a green arrow. Do not creep into the intersection without one.
  • School zones near Pelham Street. Two school zones in the southern section. 40 km/h during school hours.
  • Kay Street/Station Street area. Narrow streets with parked cars on both sides. Watch for car doors opening and pedestrians stepping out.
  • Seven roundabouts. Spread across the route. Practice VIC roundabout signalling: indicate direction before entry, indicate left when exiting.
