At 15.3 km, this is the second longest of the Salisbury routes (after Route 730) and takes about 30 minutes. The route heads west through Churchill Way West to the Bemerton Heath area via India Avenue, then north-west on Devizes Road to The Avenue near Wilton, before returning south through Churchfields and Fisherton Street. With 7 roundabouts (tied with Route 723), 3 school zones, and 3 pedestrian crossings, this is one of the most feature-packed routes from Salisbury.
Watch Out For
- School zone on Devizes Road. 20 mph during school hours. Located before the roundabout at the Bemerton Heath junction.
- Second school zone on Devizes Road. Close to the first. Maintain 20 mph through both.
- Roundabout at Roman Road junction. Large roundabout with multiple exits. Know your exit before entering and signal clearly.
- Pedestrian crossings near Churchill Way West. Three crossings in succession. Watch for the lights changing as you approach.
- Give way at the approach to Wilton. Traffic from the A360 can be fast. Wait for a clear gap.
