The longer of two routes from VTNZ Porirua, covering 22.55 km across 2 stages in about 43 minutes. This route loops north through Titahi Bay and south into the Aotea and Ascot Park subdivisions via State Highway 59. With 12 roundabouts, 9 traffic signals, and speed limits reaching 100 km/h on SH59, this is a demanding route that tests a wide range of driving skills. Compared to Route #844 (9.98 km), this covers far more ground and includes a highway section.

Watch Out For

  • 12 roundabouts throughout the route. Give way to traffic from your right. Signal left when exiting, and indicate before entering if turning left or right.
  • Speed transition from 50 to 100 km/h on SH59. Accelerate smoothly when entering the highway and be ready to slow back down at the Aotea exit. This is the only 100 km/h section.
  • 4 give way intersections around Parumoana Street. These are clustered near the VTNZ office. Full stop is not required, but you must give way to all traffic before proceeding.
  • Bike lane near Titahi Bay Road. Check for cyclists before turning left across the lane.
