The route heads southeast through Stowford and Haslington via Old Park Road and Slaughter Hill, then loops back through Crewe Green before returning via Nantwich Road. Speed limits range from 20 mph in residential areas to 60 mph on the rural stretches near Crewe Green.

Watch Out For

• Slaughter Hill. Narrow rural road with limited visibility on bends. Speed can reach 40 mph but you must adjust for oncoming traffic and tight corners.
• Crewe Road near Crewe Green. Transition from 40 mph rural road to 30 mph as you approach the roundabout. Miss the speed change and you risk a serious fault.
• Crewe Green Roundabout. Multi-exit roundabout with fast-moving traffic from the A534. Lane positioning and timely signalling are critical.
• Old Park Road bends. Winding road through Stowford with dips and blind bends. Keep left and reduce speed before each curve.

Key Tips

• This route has 22 traffic lights, the most of any Crewe route. Practise approaching lights on amber: stop if safe, proceed only if stopping would be unsafe.
• The rural section tests your ability to drive at appropriate speed on narrow lanes. Being too slow on clear stretches or too fast on bends are both common faults.
