A single-stage route from Bletchley DVSA Test Centre, covering 8.4 miles in about 29 minutes. The route heads west along Buckingham Road through Old Bletchley, then south through the town centre via Osborne Street and Western Road to High Street. It continues south along V4 Watling Street and A4146, reaching 60 mph before returning through Stoke Road and the Water Eaton residential area via Manor Road and Lennox Road. This route has the most right turns (9) of any Bletchley route.

Watch Out For

  • Buckingham Road (west section). Busy road with speed humps and pedestrian crossings near the shops. Speed drops to 20 mph. The road narrows past the railway bridge with limited forward visibility.
  • Tavistock Street / High Street area. Bletchley town centre with on-street parking, delivery vehicles, and pedestrians. Multiple give way junctions in close succession require constant observation.
  • Stoke Road. The A4146 joins Stoke Road with a speed drop from 60 mph to 30 mph. The transition is sudden at the edge of the built-up area. Start slowing before the 30 sign.
  • Findlay Way area. Residential streets east of the town centre. Multiple roundabouts including mini-roundabouts that are easy to miss if you are not watching the road surface.

  • With 9 right turns, this route tests your right-turn technique more than any other Bletchley route. Remember to check your right mirror and blind spot before turning, and position your car just left of the centre line while waiting.
  • The A4146 is a fast section that leads into residential Bletchley. The speed drop from 60 to 30 mph catches many candidates out. Watch for the speed limit signs and begin slowing early.
