Location & Terrain: Coastal suburb north of Wollongong. The area is squeezed between the railway line and the Princes Highway.

Traffic Conditions: Fluctuates between high-speed highway traffic and narrow, older residential streets.

Railway Crossings: The route almost always involves crossing the Illawarra Railway Line. You must check for trains (look left and right) even if the boom gates are up. Never enter the crossing unless there is space for your car on the other side.

Unprotected Right Turns: On the Princes Highway, you may face right turns without a green arrow. You must wait in the intersection and pick a safe gap in oncoming traffic—a test of judgment and patience.

Narrow Streets: Residential streets often have cars parked on both sides, requiring you to give way to oncoming vehicles frequently.

Common Maneuvers: Level crossing safety procedures, gap selection on highways, and kerbside stops on grassy verges.
